Are you worried about your alcohol intake?

Are you worried about your alcohol intake? People drink for many different reasons, from the celebrations to the commiserations. Whether you want to cut down your alcohol intake or stop drinking altogether, hypnotherapy can help you succeed in a way that willpower alone won't.

Where are you on the continuum of alcohol use?

If you're at the moderate to severe dependency stage, it would be best to see your GP as stopping alcohol suddenly could be dangerous.

However if you're at the problematic to mild dependency stage, we can work out a treatment plan for you.

This involves coming for an initial consultation to discuss what is happening for you.

We will work together for six sessions to help you reduce your alcohol intake to a safer level, and possible abstinence if that's right for you.

Trauma is at the root of all addictions. We all need the opportunity for meaningful connection. If we have trouble connecting with people, we will find something else to connect with, such as a substance, that provides that feel good chemical within the brain - dopamine.

The problem is, over time, you need more and more alcohol to get the same release of dopamine, which builds up your tolerance, leading you to drink at increasingly harmful levels.

A recent study found that "Isolation perpetuates addiction, so stigma will directly impact the recovery rates of the many people struggling with addiction". For more information on that research, click on the link below.
